a Nairobi-based photographer with twelve years of chasing the moments people don’t plan for. Warm, grounded, and a little fun ,that’s the energy I bring to every shoot, and honestly, it’s how I get the best out of people. Portraits, stories, events, landscapes… the frame I’m really after is always the one that catches you completely off guard.
Twelve years in, and I still treat each genre as its own discipline rather than a setting on the same camera. Portraiture taught me patience and light. Documentary work taught me to disappear into a room. Corporate and event photography taught me speed reading a moment before it’s gone. Landscape taught me the opposite: to wait, sometimes for hours, for the one minute the light is right.
Long before a camera, I was drawn to composition, restraint, and the discipline of saying one true thing well rather than many things loudly the same instincts that later pulled me into branding and visual identity work. I think about a photograph the way a typographer thinks about a letterform: weight, negative space, and the line that does the most work while saying the least. Art, to me, isn’t a separate hobby from the craft it’s the lens the craft is held up to.
